I had been studying most too much the past week and I knew I had to get out and do something over the weekend if I was going to stave off insanity. The weather was predicted sour, but I knew it could be wrong. Heather asked her dad if he would be interested in hiking with me and we had a most excellent day.
We hiked to Lake Ingalls in the shadow of Mt. Stuart near the Enchantments. We hiked 6 hours, 9 miles, and 2600 feet. There were some most spectacular colors. A parade of colors really.

Green and Red fungi.

Yellow Larch trees.

A close up of a Larch.

Neon green fungi.

Green conifers. (and gray Mt. Stuart)

White Snow. (and gray Ingalls Lake)

Brown rock.

Blue mountains and sky. (and Mt. Adams very far in the distance)

Clear water.

Black bolder (that was also cold and sweaty)

And a few other nice and random pictures:

Charlie Brown's Larch Christmas tree.
