Day 1 - I picked Heather up from her last final and we drove a little ways past Portland and spent the night at a state park.

Day 2 - We continued the drive and arrived in San Francisco in time to celebrate St. Patrick's day with Erin and Jesse. Thanks for the round Heather.

Day 3 - Heather and I went to visit a friend of Chris', Kenny, who has become a friend of us. Kenny let Heather and I stay at his apartment in Prague two years ago for spring break. He is now working on a literature PhD at Stanford. For how smart he is, he is humorously aloof. That night we met up with Erin and Jesse again and spent the night at Marin State park across the Golden Gate bridge from San Fran. It is was gorgeous.

Day 4 - The next morning we explored the park a bit.

The tunnel to the light house was locked.

The view from the park. This was, unfortunately, some of the best weather of the trip

We hiked ourselves down there and found ....

A deceased (little great white) shark.

Jesse and Erin went to pick up some friends, so Heather and I checked out Stinson Beach. It was a little windy.

We drove along the coast north of San Fran a bit.

That night we hung out at Erin's parents house north of Sacramento, drank beers and played risk.

Day 5 - Heather and I went skiing. California stole our weather this year, so we went to Cali. It was Heather's only day of the year and my only day in America. Since we were only skiing one day we splurged and went to Heavenly.

Heather and I and a little piece of Lake Tahoe. (notice the jacket, my b-day present, but the only day I got to use it. It worked well)

Lake Tahoe from Heavenly. The weather wasn't the greatest, but the snow was. It was hero snow. I was glad I had my sugar daddies along.

There was some cool sun action on the drive home.

Day 6 - We woke at a decent hour, left Erin's, and drove to Napa Valley for some plentiful wine tasting.

The four of us in Francis Coppola's winery.

The outside of Coppola's winery.

We camped in the valley that night and it rained the whole time. We got in our tents around and fell into a deep wine-induced sleep without dinner.

Day 7 -  In the morning it was still raining. Heather and I stopped at the Napa library to check the weather. It turned out rain was predicted for the entire west coast, including Nevada. We would have driven any where (reasonable) to find sun, but there was none. So we went back to San Francisco.

Back in the city we walked around a bit.

During a break in the rain, there was a rainbow.

That night we went to a concert, Mono.

Day 8 -  We spent another day in San Francisco walking around.

In the morning we went to Fisherman's Warf and looked at seals.

From there we took a cable car ride to downtown. Here is a picture I took leaning out of the cable car.

We went for a walk through Golden Gate Park and sat for a while at this pond. Check out the turtle sitting on top of the other turtle.

That night we drove back to Erin's house. On the way Heather and I watched Million Dollar Baby. That night Erin's brother, John, and I played everyone in foosball and dominated.

Day 9 - we were tired of the rain so we planned on just laying around. As luck would have it, the weather was nice.

So we went on a picnic.

We had a view of California's highest bridge.

That night we celebrated the end of spring break with copious amounts of alcohol and Monopoly.

Day 10 - We were tired of camping in the rain, so Heather and I drove back to Seattle in one shot.

All in all it was a great break, now it is back to the studies.
