I think it was Ty's idea. I had a comp day from work and the students had the day off from school. So on a Friday morning in October of 2006, we met at Krispy Kreme and then caravanned over the passes to Leavenworth. It would have been worthwhile to make the trip just to see the fall leaves along the way. But in addition we climbed, camped, made fires, drank German beer, and ate German food. Note: some of the following pictures were taken by Marc. Thanks Marc.

Before we did anything too serious we did some lunch eating at our campground. From the left: patrick, sarah, ben, yours truly, heather, ty. (pic by Marc)

Heather and I stopped at a farm on the way home. Some green gourds

Some yellowish reddish and other colored gourds

My favorite picture of gourds (my current background at work)

Still more gourds

Orange gourds. Happy Halloween
