After Auschwitz we went to a town
called Wroclaw. I liked Wroclaw.

Heather looking good by the fountain in the main square.

In my tradition when exploring Europe, we hiked to the highest point in
Wroclaw.

The town square from a higher elevation

Who is that good looking guy standing next to the river in Wroclaw?
Next on our parade through Poland was
Torun. The weather wasn't too great and we weren't too excited with Torun
so we spent a lot of time in cafes playing chess, but we still had some
awesome times.

We spent an hour exploring some castle ruins

That afternoon there was a celebration in the town square because Poland
is going to be joining the European Union soon. My camera focused on that
guys head instead of the fire blower and flag waver on stilts.

Yay! Poland is joining the EU! That choir in the balcony of the town hall
sang the national anthem.

The president of Poland (left) and the mayor of Torun (right) made
speeches. We didn't understand them of course.
I then took Heather to Berlin. Before
I had to leave for Munich I took Heather on a whirlwind tour of my
favorite sights.

The history of the past 50 years centers around Berlin. Here is the Berlin
wall. We are standing on the Eastern side.

We went to the famous Jewish history museum. The guy who designed this
museum is designing the new World Trade Center.

Shoot, I am leaving the American sector.

The Brandenburg gate. Napoleon once stole that statue on top and put it in
the Louvre, but then the Prussians stole it back and put it atop this
gate.

This church was bombed during WWII and was left broken as a memorial.
